Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the RestStop Finder application ("the App"), developed by an independent developer. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

RestStop Finder helps users locate highway rest stops across the United States. The App displays rest stop locations, amenities, and other information sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors. Rest stop data is provided for informational purposes only and may not always be accurate, complete, or up to date.

Subscriptions and Billing

The App offers optional auto-renewable subscription plans ("RestStop Pro") that unlock additional features such as offline maps, route planning, and widgets.

• Payment: Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account via the App Store. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Price: Subscription prices are displayed in the App before purchase. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change.
• Free Trials: If a free trial is offered, the unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Cancellation: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their Standard License Agreement and App Store policies.

Use of the App

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the App while driving or in any manner that distracts from safe vehicle operation.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App.
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without prior written consent.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• Rest stop information (locations, amenities, hours, availability) is accurate or current.
• Rest stops shown in the App will be open, accessible, or safe at the time of your visit.
• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Always verify rest stop availability and conditions independently. Do not rely solely on the App for travel planning decisions.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App (excluding third-party data from OpenStreetMap) are owned by the developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Rest stop data is sourced from OpenStreetMap and is available under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL).

Third-Party Services

The App uses the OpenStreetMap Overpass API to retrieve rest stop data. Your use of this data is also subject to OpenStreetMap's terms and policies. The App may also interact with Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze for navigation — each subject to their own terms of service.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
