The app uses data from OpenStreetMap, a community-driven mapping project, to locate rest areas along US highways. Data is updated regularly by contributors worldwide.
Your location is used to show rest stops near you and calculate distances. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers.
No. The app works with "While Using the App" location. If you have RestStop Pro and start a route with its Lock Screen Live Activity, location updates continue in the background only while that Live Activity runs, so your ETA stays current. iOS shows its location indicator during that time.
The app requires location access to find rest stops near you. If location permission is denied, the app will show a prompt explaining how to enable it in iOS Settings.
Go to the Settings tab in the app and tap "Clear Cache." This removes temporarily stored rest stop data. Your favorites are not affected.
No. RestStop Finder does not collect personal information, has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. All data stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
