Effective date: March 14, 2026
RestStop Finder ("the App") is developed by an independent developer. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices.
The App uses your device's location to find nearby highway rest stops. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers. When you grant "Always" location permission, the App uses iOS region monitoring to notify you of nearby rest stops while driving — this also runs on-device.
You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
The App queries the OpenStreetMap Overpass API to retrieve rest stop data. These queries include geographic coordinates based on your approximate area to find nearby rest stops. No personal identifiers, device IDs, or account information are included in these requests. OpenStreetMap's own privacy policy applies to their service.
No other third-party services, analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are used.
No data is synced to external servers or cloud services.
The App does not require an account, does not collect your name or email, and does not store any personal information.
Your data is never sold, shared, or transferred to third parties.
The App does not knowingly collect any data from children. No personal information is collected from any user.
All data (favorites, preferences, cache) is stored locally on your device. You can delete your favorites individually from the Favorites tab, clear the cache from Settings, or delete all app data by uninstalling the App. No data is retained on any server.
Since RestStop Finder does not collect or store personal data on any server, there is no personal data to access, export, or delete remotely. All data is under your control on your device. You can revoke location access, delete favorites, or uninstall the App at any time.
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
