IceDip — Cold Plunge Timer

IceDip ("the App") is developed by Yusuf Can Samiloglu. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your data. In short: your data stays on your devices. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.

1. Data We Collect

The App stores the following data locally on your device to provide its core functionality:

• Session records — start time, duration, water temperature, mood ratings (before/after), benefit zone reached, and optional notes.
• Preferences — default duration, temperature unit, theme, zone thresholds, weekly goal, notification settings, and sound preferences.

All of this data is health and fitness data created by you within the App. No data is collected automatically, and no data is sent to any server.

2. How Data Is Collected

Data is created only through your direct interaction with the App — for example, completing a cold plunge session or changing a setting. The App does not collect data in the background, does not access your location, contacts, camera, or microphone, and does not use any analytics or tracking frameworks.

3. How Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to provide App functionality:

• Displaying your session history, charts, and mood trends.
• Calculating streaks and weekly goal progress.
• Powering Home Screen widgets and Watch complications.
• Remembering your preferences across app launches.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with anyone. The App contains:

• No third-party SDKs
• No analytics or tracking services
• No advertising frameworks
• No server-side data processing

5. iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your session data syncs automatically across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure (via SwiftData). This data is stored in your personal iCloud account, encrypted and managed by Apple. The developer has no access to your iCloud data. You can disable iCloud sync in your device's Settings > Apple Account > iCloud.

6. Apple Health (HealthKit)

The App can optionally save cold plunge sessions as workouts to Apple Health. This feature is:

• Opt-in — disabled by default; you must enable it in Settings > Health.
• Write-only — the App saves workout data but does not read any Health data.
• User-controlled — you can revoke access at any time via iOS Settings > Health > IceDip.

HealthKit data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.

7. Apple Watch & WatchConnectivity

If you use the companion Watch app, session data syncs between your Watch and iPhone using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This communication happens directly between your paired devices — no external servers are involved.

8. Notifications

The App can send local notifications for timer completion and optional daily reminders. These are scheduled entirely on-device. The App does not use push notifications and does not communicate with any remote server.

9. Siri Shortcuts

The App supports Siri Shortcuts for starting plunge sessions. Shortcut intents are processed entirely on-device using the AppIntents framework. No data leaves your device.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data persists on your device (and in your iCloud account, if enabled) until you choose to delete it. You can delete all data at any time:

• In-app: Settings > Data > Delete All Data
• HealthKit data: iOS Settings > Health > IceDip
• iCloud data: iOS Settings > Apple Account > iCloud > Manage Storage
• Complete removal: Deleting the App removes all local data.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, please contact us and we will assist with deletion.

12. Your Rights

Because all data stays on your devices, you have full control at all times. You can:

• View all your data within the App (History tab).
• Export your data as CSV (Settings > Data > Export Sessions).
• Delete all data (Settings > Data > Delete All Data).
• Revoke HealthKit access (iOS Settings > Health).
• Disable iCloud sync (iOS Settings > iCloud).

13. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
